Leading Camping and Emergency Meal Maker Mountain House Releases Five New Offerings

Albany, Ore. – January 29, 2015 – Mountain House, the leading maker of backpacking and emergency meals, announced the release of five new meal offerings.

Italian Style Pepper Steak with Rice and Tomatoes, Chicken Fried Rice, and Precooked Scrambled Eggs are all new to the Mountain House line-up. Italian Style Pepper Steak and Precooked Scrambled Eggs are both gluten-free. They also expanded their Pro-Pak^® line of compact, vacuum-sealed meals to include their popular Breakfast Skillet and Precooked Scrambled Eggs with Bacon.

“We wanted to continue doing what we do best: make hearty meals that are true to their name and exceed consumer expectations,” says Reiner Bohlen, Marketing Manager for Mountain House. “Consumers asked for Chicken Fried Rice, Italian Pepper Steak, and pre-cooked Scrambled Eggs. Mountain House Italian Style Pepper Steak with Rice and TomatoesMade with tender cuts of steak, with red, green and yellow bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes and long grain rice. This new item is gluten-free.
Mountain House Chicken Fried Rice Made with long grain rice and cooked chicken, scrambled eggs, onions, mushrooms, green peas, red peppers and carrots.
Mountain House Precooked Scrambled EggsBack by popular demand are Mountain House Precooked Scrambled Eggs. With 16 grams of protein per serving this offering is both vegetarian and gluten-free.
Mountain House Breakfast Skillet Pro-PakMountain House’s breakfast mix of hash browns, scrambled eggs, pork sausage, peppers and onions is now available in their proprietary Pro-Paks. Pro-Paks are vacuum sealed so they’ll take up less space and won’t expand at higher altitudes.
Mountain House Precooked Scrambled Eggs with Bacon Pro-PakThe popular Mountain House breakfast is now available in Pro-Pak.
